Background:

The Aero Club at Cloppenburg in northern Germany decided to improve the quality of their grass runway. The original surface was stripped and replaced with quality topsoil, which was then re-sown with grass seed. After the grass growth had been reestablished, the entire runway and some taxiways were reinforced with standard PERFO ground reinforcement tiles. Runway markings were integrated using white PERFO marker tiles.
